1111 Main St Garage

I can't vouch for the garage, but the building art murals are breathtaking!

The fanciest parking garage I've ever seen. The building used to be Sakowitz Department Store from 1902-1990.

This garage has a sign with prices for 24 hours. That is all you see as you drive towards it and get into it. Be aware that the garage closes at 9 pm, even though it is not posted anywhere but on the opposite wall as to what you see when you drive in. You will NOT see the sign until they locked your car in and you have to find out why. The garage is sketchy, lonely and steep entrance. It is well lit, but lonely and scary. It looks like a building that was converted into a garage. Hard to maneuver if you have a big car because there are some pillars close to the elevators and you will have to go through them. There were at least 40 cars locked at the same time my car did, so it is very common practice for them to trick people about the hours. That way you will het overnight prices. There is

5 DOLLARS ALL WEEKEND LONG EACH USE!!! A life saver when coming to Houston with a fiancé that didn’t know there wasn’t free parking for hotels downtown. All other parking was 25 to 30 for the night. Kinda sketchy but totally worth it.

Cheap but this is uncomfortable to drive around in. This was clearly not designed as a garage, but repurposed into one.
