I recently bought a house at the beach, that came with a 40 year old gas fireplace, that was corroded, and therefore unusable. I was looking to replace it with an electric fireplace insert. I had called a local construction company, that was recommended by a fireplace store. Fortunately for me, they were only going to simply insert a very small electric fireplace into the existing firebox, and that was not acceptable. I reached out to them to troubleshoot my gas fireplace that was not operating properly, and they were extremely professional and knowledgeable.
