A-1-A did all the packing and loading at the origin location. At the destination I discovered that the wardrobe boxes containing my clothing on hangers had also been tightly jammed with other items, such as a full size plastic clothes hamper (into which a comforter was tightly jammed), unprotected shoes and an iron, a wastepaper basket, a tripod, file boxes, and more! The force and displacement resulting from of all that jamming caused my clothes to not just be all creased, but also damaged, including a leather jacket whose collar was permanently dented in two places. Mats and a rug which should have been rolled up were instead tightly folded and bent. An upholstered chair had its upholstery ripped. Overall I am pretty happy with my service. The movers were kind, patient, professional and extremely courteous. The estimator on the other hand was the opposite. When I met with him he was inpatient and not friendly but I threw it to the wind. They are contracted with Mayflower and I thought it was just an overall tough guy attitude. However, he told me it was going to be two containers and I insisted it was only one, in the end my belongings did not even take up the space of one. And I kept telling him I had some very expensive items I was moving and I needed help understanding the insurance. I ended up paying approx $50 extra to double my insurance, which seems like nothing and definitely worth it but he didn’t explain it fully and the movers were not told of this and didn’t ask. From Elliot, to the women in the office to the drivers and laborers. They all know what they are doing and are very professional, polite, respectful and friendly.
