My dad paid nearly $1,800 to A&K Service Heating & Cooling for what we were told would fix our broken AC. The technician said the system was low on refrigerant and offered a few options, but made it sound like replacing the control board and refilling the refrigerant would get everything working again. Based on his recommendation, that’s what we agreed to. The AC never worked properly after the repair. It failed almost immediately, and when the technician came back, he confirmed there were leaks in both the inside and outside coils, something he suspected from the beginning. What makes this even worse is that it’s been 85+ degrees inside our house, and our dog and guinea pigs are clearly struggling in the heat.
