A Modern Touch

Complaint: In 2022 State Farm found that I had hail damage and contacted A Modern Touch (AMT) to replace my metal roof. They also had to replace half of the roof under-sheathing throughout due to rot. When completed, the area around the chimney looked terrible. Even though I was promised it would never leak, the property value would be a lot less. (Please see the pics.) During storms with high winds, the roof would leak around the chimney area. I posted a review about this once and AMT called and begged me to remove it saying they would gladly make the needed repair. So, I removed my review. They came and made some very minor touches (as seen in pics) but the roof still leaks during storms with high winds. They came and sprayed the roof with water for an hour and it never leaked.

This is one of the easiest reviews I’ve ever written. Working with A Modern Touch Construction was seamless from start to finish. Every step—from the initial quote to the final walkthrough—was handled with professionalism and care. Communication with the Project Manager, Juan, was excellent. I felt completely comfortable asking questions throughout the process, and his responses were always clear and timely. It was also a huge relief to have someone coordinating all the scheduling and project details on my behalf. And then… the work itself. WOW. I selected the materials and finishes, but their craftsmanship is what truly brought everything to life. We hired A Modern Touch in summer 2025 to replace our decks. While the quoting process was smooth, the project was delayed when they waited a month to apply for permits, requiring our intervention, which then ran into the move in date (no finished decks for almost two months). A $2k change order was issued before work began due to missed footings in the bid. During construction, several issues arose, including work not following approved plans. Only Cody was responsive; the project manager (Chris) was largely unresponsive. An invoice for the remaining balance was sent before the work was completed or inspected, and payment was appropriately withheld until completion. (Hail damaged roof replacement) We might have never gotten our homeowner's insurance to fund the job, except that AMT knew that a second claim was needed. We liked the choices of materials, the cost, and the crew (done in one day).
