I hired ATG to skim coat and paint all finished surfaces in my 1400 sq foot unit. Both the drywall and painting teams were hard working. The drywall team applied several coats to cover up what was a very heavy texture with excellent results. The painting team worked quickly and had a great attention to detail. However, what I really want to highlight is the integrity in which John operates his business. When an issue arose at our job site, John was responsive, present, and immediately remedied the situation at his expense, which eased what could've been a very stressful experience. Things can occasionally go wrong on a job site. It happens. What is more critical is how your contractor responds to a situation, and based on my experience, John will step up and make it right.

Against the Grain was hired to refinish our wood floors last September. They did a fairly poor job in some areas, but they also almost started a fire by unplugging the fan to the fireplace and leaving our bookshelf in front of the very hot fireplace and leaving a large burn mark on our bookshelf. They never reimbursed us for the bookshelf damage or came back to redo the area that were not well done, even after we walked them through the damage. We do not recommend using their services.
