The Agave Trail is a great trail to walk on Alcatraz Island and it is only open seasonally during the winter months. It offers great views of the historical building on the island as well as fantastic views of the San Francisco skyline, SF Bay, and the Bay Bridge.
Good visit good and free audio tour i recommend
The Agave Trail is only open on Alcatraz Island during the winter time. But you can see it from the tower on the top.
Great views… but the smell! The Agave Trail has some amazing views of the city and the bay—definitely worth the short walk. But fair warning: there are a lot of seagulls, and the smell from all the bird poop is intense. Still glad I went, just don’t breathe too deep!
An excellent way to head back to the dock. Great views of the city, lots of interesting agave plants, and the chance to get down near the water. It made for an excellent last stop before heading back to San Francisco.
