What did we do? We contracted AK Paving in April 2023 to repave our old driveway and install a double line of belgian blocks on each side. How did we chose AK Paving? Before starting we had obtained multiple quotes from different contractors and chose to work with Alex because of his great references and great online reviews. We wanted a quality job and, because we work in the city and would not always be present during the day, we wanted to work with someone we could trust. How did it go? Since the beginning Alex was responsive and explained us how things would work. My neighbor recommended AK Paving for my small driveway project. The project consisted of removing 3 layers of asphalt and repaving, add a Belgium block apron, and leveling a prefab concrete trench drain so vehicles can enter garage smoother. When the owner, Alex Lino surveyed the job, he suggested building up the cement walls of the trench as the original installer pitched the trench properly and addressed the ~3" step up when vehicles entered garage with anchored perforated platforms. Secondly, the driveway is both on a decline slope into garage but also on hill, so you are dealing with 2 angles if that makes sense.
