When I was suddenly in an afterhours emergency situation with a bedbound elderly parent and a furnace going out at -4, I asked my neighbors who to call and everybody said, “ALK!” Eric from ALK was there immediately! Even though he didn’t have the motor for the furnace (he was servicing a furnace that had been installed by a different provider that was no longer providing emergency services on it!) he walked through my house to help me set up space heaters, got all my pipes protected, and made sure we were good for the night! -4° and all of my pipes survived! He was there early in the morning and had everything quickly fixed with the new part. I will never call anybody except ALK again. Literally life-saving. Thank you!

My pipes burst day after Christmas 2025. In my situation, I have to apply for help through MDHHS, and use an SER form. (State Emergency Relief) He came over and said he would fax an estimate to MDHHS. That's all he had to do. He was an approved contractor by MDHHS, said he's done this before, and seemed genuinely interested in helping. He did none of those things. It's now February 5th 2026 and I'm still without water. I've been denied twice now because he didn't fax an estimate and was stuck out of town. I've since found a new contractor, but won't see them for another week This was horrible. My sons 10th birthday was January 5th and I still haven't had his party. No clean clothes, animals need water, no clean dishes, no SHOWER for me. What started as a basic service call for our home not properly heating or recovering fast enough end in a horror story. They were very short on the phone but we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. However when they showed up and came inside our whole home was filled with the aroma of pot. While it may be legal, I would have preferred a sober technician. They told us the recovery was fine and charged us 2 hours and didn’t fix anything. In my opinion either the employees don’t respect the company or the company doesn’t respect its employees. Either way they will never get our call again.

This is a response to Greg Landmorhe. ALK Contracting has never worked for this person and it is a fake review. It's unfortunate that people post fake reviews to defame companies. We take this very seriously.

We have a cabin in Ontonagon, MI and ALK has been fantastic! We needed a toilet replaced and a furnace installed and they did a fantastic job at a very fair price. We will be having them work on our bathroom and kitchen remodels as well. Suzette, Tom, Patt and Eric have all been top notch!
