Alan has restored/built a first gen and ‘85 second gen for me. He’s a guru. Extremely knowledgeable. Great communicator. He sets realistic expectations and delivers on time and within the budget. He doesn’t hit you with unexpected expenses. He puts out a high quality product and refuses to cut corners (even when I suggest them). And his prices have remained fair. He exceeded my expectations with both trucks and I can’t wait to see what he does with the next one!

I met Alan by chance while hunting for parts for my 1988 4Runner, and it ended up being one of those rare lucky breaks. From the first conversation, it was clear he knows these trucks inside and out. He helped guide me through the full restoration of my 4Runner and later assisted with acquiring and restoring a 1988 4Runner Turbo as well. Alan brings deep knowledge, patience, and real care to his work. You can tell he loves what he does and takes pride in doing it right. I purchased a gently restored 1985 Toyota SR5 pickup from Always a few years ago and honestly couldn’t be happier with it. The quality of the restoration is great, Alan obviously knows these vehicles inside and out! The truck is basically my daily driver, which is crazy given that it’s 40 years old and has almost 400k miles on it. Speaks volumes for Alan’s work. And on top of being a joy to drive, I’ve had more than one offer to purchase the truck for more than I paid for it. Like I said couldn’t be happier!

Alan is super knowledgeable about vintage Toyotas and can source hard to find parts. I have bought a truck through him and had work done through his shop. Highly recommend him and his crew.
