American National Movers

I lodged a complaint with the FMCSA following this experience. It turns out that American National has received citations in several states for operating without the required licenses. Every few years, they slightly alter their name to avoid negative criticism. The address in Coral Springs is merely a postal drop. Their sophisticated website is just smoke and mirrors, so don't be duped.

Despite the name suggesting they're a national carrier, they're just a broker. The sales rep quoted me $3,400 and was very convincing. On moving day, a truck from "Express Van Lines" showed up—a company I never heard of. They said my estimate didn't include packing materials, stairs, or fuel surcharge. The total jumped to $5,600. I felt completely trapped.

I was hesitant about using movers after retirement, and unfortunately my concerns weren’t completely eased. The overall experience didn’t feel as outstanding as I had hoped. While the team completed the job, there were moments that felt disorganized and less professional than expected. I’m not sure I would choose to use them again.

They gave me a delivery window of 10-14 days. My stuff arrived on day 23. When I called to check status, they had no idea where my shipment was. The carrier had "lost tracking" and American National said "we can't help, call the carrier." The carrier's phone went straight to voicemail. I spent weeks stressed out not knowing if I'd ever see my furniture again.

I was hesitant about using movers to help after retirement …. glad I changed my mind. These guys were outstanding all around. The owner is a stand up kid…. Would use again
