American Utility Company

Absolutely the worst utility company I’ve ever dealt with. If I could give them zero stars, I would. They’ve been working in my subdivision for over a month, and every couple of days they manage to break a water line — leaving the entire neighborhood without water for two or three days at a time. The field supervisor, Sean, has repeatedly denied that his crew is even working in the area, despite their trucks being parked right next to the damaged pipes (with photos to prove it). Trying to contact the company is useless — their voicemail is always full, clearly so they don’t have to deal with the flood of complaints they deserve.

I walked out to my front yard to find this company digging in my yard to connect a fiber optic line. They didn’t knock on my door or let me know what was going on as a courtesy. They started in the utility easement but ended outside of the easement in my flower garden, digging it up. As they were leaving, after scarring my yard and flower beds, one of the guys said he would be back to replace the mulch in my flower garden. That has not happened, and it’s been 3 weeks. I’ve tried contacting the company but their mailbox is full.

This company came onto my property unannounced and damaged the yard quite extensively with the equipment resulting in personal injuries. They didn’t cooperate whatsoever in repairing the damage, even after they assured me they would. 54 days later they returned and caused even more damages. Claimed they couldn’t speak English, yet somehow managed to learn it within minutes once the supervisor showed up. Quite interesting to read this wasn’t an isolated event…

If I could give them -5 stars, I would they came into our neighborhood ran utility lines for Tachus and used my yard with their large equipment, destroyed my sewer clean out on my new house and made a mess . spoke with several representatives from their company and they just give you the runaround. Told me it would look like we were never in your yard by the time we're done we will fix everything three weeks now no repairs made sewer clean out is sitting 8 inches above where it used to where it was level with the ground before. That was their repair having to level my yard myself and replace the sod they destroyed be very leery of this company.

Constantly hitting water lines etc while doing work in Westwood! Sick and tired of it. Do they not call the county to get lines flagged like normal contractors?? These people are horrible!
