So I had ampco come out and install one 220 receptacle with one foot of wire out of my shop breaker box and add one other 220 receptacle on existing wire and tie in two other receptacles. So two receptacles and one foot of wire and I was charged $951. Took two technicians 4 hours to complete. I realize training costs money but my goodness. Owner said when the guys made it back he would call and discuss price with me. Call never came. Called back and talked to receptionist or whoever answers the phone and said owner would call me. Call never came. They also told me they wouldn’t cash the check until I spoke to the owner. Again didn’t happen. The AmpCo team came through for us with their emergency services when we lost power due to faulty wiring. They were quick to diagnose and fix the problem with minimal downtime for our family.

Ampco ripped me off. First, I had to wait without electricity for 5 days just to get an appointment. They called the morning of the appointment to inform me that there was an emergency in Oklahoma City and they had determined that my emergency wasn't as important. But they promised they'd be out the next day. Well, they never showed up. I had to call them, and it was obvious they had forgotten me. Ampco charges $225 for the first hour and $150 for any portion of any additional hours. Two men showed up the next day. They diagnosed and fixed the problem, which was a burnt outlet plug, and reattached the plug within 10 minutes. BUT... when it came time to collect, they charged me for TWO HOURS, claiming that the first hour included drive time. I might note, they are NOT 45 minutes away from m

Quoted me for $1900, billed me for $3400. I CHOSE THEM OVER EVERY OTHER PLACE BECAUSE THEIR QUOTE SEEMED REASONABLE. They told me they were sending out 2 technicians, they instead sent 3...and billed me for it. Buyer Beware...and ask for a heads up before they go over their "quoted" price...they didnt do that for me. I run a restaurant, that would be like me having your steak dinner on the menu for $45...but i charge you $80 at the register. SOUND FAIR???
