Guess thier huge parking garage on Polk St that sits mostly empty wasn't enough, now we're leveling an entire block for surface parking, the banks CEO claims more parking will benefit downtown somehow as if we aren't drowning in free parking. Welcome to fabulous Downtown Amarillo where there's nothing to do but park your car.
Another historic building, 406 S Polk St demolished for surface parking. Like 70% of downtown real estate is already dedicated to parking. Seems really pointless when neither the parking lot itself or street parking is ever full. Waste of valuable real estate in my opinion.
