Auli'i Construction has helped me with several construction/renovation projects since 2005. This includes the building of two cottages and renovation of a kitchen and bathroom. The owner, Mike Chun, knows his stuff and is one of the nicest, most honest people you will meet in the industry. Cost-wise, Auli'i is not the cheapest nor the most expensive construction company on Oahu but their work is first rate. I have recommended Mike and his company to many of my friends over the years, many of whom have hired him for projects of their own. Why the two stars then? It has to do with recent issues with timeliness and focus on the completion of projects. The last project with Mike took four times longer than scheduled. Granted, there are always unexpected problems and delays but, unfortunately,

I would not do business with this company. The owner never responds to any email. He came recommended, brought over a whole bunch of subs to provide an estimate. Estimate came back, I asked for a breakdown and revision he never responded. Then I get an email from his secretary asking if I had questions. I say yes and Mike didn't answer them. Oh may I ask what the questions were so I can follow up with Mike. Mike is in and out, just had cataract surgery, yada yada, yada. It's still been a while and she's asking for my patience. Sorry, time waits for no one. Dissapointed in this contractor and his ability to communicate in a timely manner.
