Baker Distributing Company

We have been doing business with Baker getting parts and full units for about 10 to 15 years. We have always been tax exempt. And have always given our Texas resale certificate when needed. Today I was quoted over the phone for a part that I needed, went in to pick it up and pay, when I was told I needed to pay taxes. I inform them that we have always been tax exempt and the last time I purchased was February 2022 and I purchase was tax exempt. The man, doug, insisted that I was taxable. I told him I would go get my tax exempt paper and give him a copy if they needed an update. He said well there's nothing I could do your taxable. When you purchase oxygen or acetylene bottles here, request full ones. Honestly, I've always felt like that was implied. I guess empty ones are an option now.
