Beaches Sabre Club NY

I was gifted a lesson of lifetime for Christmas to Beaches Sabre club, through Groupon. I always dreamed of learning the basics of sword fighting to fulfill my Princess Bride Dreams, and this place did not disappoint! Tyler, instructed our group of 6 on all the basics of this ancient sport, all with a straight face (I have no doubts we looked ridiculous). He was a patient instructor who clearly loves what he does. For an hour, myself and 5 of my friends were suited up, and taught the basic footwork and rules. We had an absolute blast! I would love to go back for more. Hidden in an old church in Troy, this place, and Tyler, were absolute gems!

My son has been training at Beaches Sabre Club for just over a year. They really share a bond with their members. The members cheer each other on, help encourage yet challenge one another. They are professional but not stuffy. Students are encouraged to ask questions and demonstrate an understanding. It is very clear that they love what they are doing and care for their students. While in Bermuda we attending a fencing class, they were impressed with the skills my son has learned at Beaches. There are schools closer to where I live but I wouldn't dream of taking my son anywhere else.
