Extremely unsafe & careless service from Benak’s Heating & Cooling through American Home Shield. Technician used bleach in our HVAC system without asking while our pet was nearby and toddler was home, leaving a puddle of bleach water, pipe shavings, and a cut pipe behind, and our house smelled strongly of bleach all day. The coupling wasn’t attached properly at all. The owner’s response was dismissive, saying bleach is “protocol” and suggesting a recall with the warranty company, but I did not trust them to fix it safely. Even though bleach may sometimes be used in PVC condensate lines, it should be flushed with water to avoid damage. This seemed excessive and unnecessary. If the bleach got onto other parts of the HVAC system, it could be corrosive. This was very dangerous for children and

Crazy, they caused water damage and are refusing to come out also refusing to give me their insurance info. I am stunned, they did some repairs that took almost a month to do. Once they finished I have water leaking through my ceiling and floor. It’s destroying my drywall. I begged for them to correct their mistake. They refused, I asked for their insurance company, they refused. How are they in business. Bob and Sheila are not good people. They don’t care. If you have American home shield they will automatically set you up with this company. I urge you to request a different sub contractor as the only business this place gets is work orders from American home shield. They will damage your home and not care. I will be escalating this. All I asked is that they make it right because mistakes

We had Benak’s out to look at our AC after it gave us an error and we noticed condensation on our ducts. Tech was very nice and helpful - very hot day. Something was accidentally disconnected during cleaning so AC stopped working after tech left. Bob did apologize for this and we appreciated his remedy for our trouble.

Benak came right away when our A/C broke down on Friday. They scheduled us the first appointment on Monday morning. Erick was knowledgeable and professional. He explained everything and what he needed to do. He found the part needed locally, picked it up, and was back in less than an hour. The unit needed to be cleaned and he did that too. He finished within two hours and by the end of the day the house was cool and comfortable. We would highly recommend Benak Heating and Cooling.
