Excellent long distance move with Big Shoulders Moving We recently hired Big Shoulders for our long distance move from a Chicago suburb to California, and the entire experience was outstanding. From the first interaction, their team was professional, responsive, and very clear about the process. A cross country move with a family can be overwhelming, but they made everything feel structured and well managed. Dany’s crew was awesome! Him and his crew were fantastic and super professional. Honestly, in every move I do expect broken items but there were none. While they were reassembling, I unpacked my cups and vases and everything was secure. To note, I did pay for the white glove service where they also packed it for me, so maybe consider doing that to ensure your items are packed properly? I contemplated giving them 4 stars because there is a lot of shuffling around with pickup and delivery schedules. However, their workers always communicated well enough on their own. I think their management might just need to space out their jobs a bit better. Especially because the previous customers before me during pickup had A LOT more items than they ordered for. Whatever you do run the other direction. This was the worst experience ever. They don't charge by size of the living space, they charge by cubic feet used in the truck. You also must know exactly what items you're bringing and the exact size of each box your using. They also don't tell you that the truck is 53 feet long and if you can't accomdate the truck they add a shuttle fee. They also put other peoples stuff in the same truck. Not to mention they tack on extra charges whenever they can. They count each step on a staircase and they count how many feet it is from your door to the truck. My experience with them has been an absolute whirlwind. I booked with them because I thought it would make my life easier, but it actually made it harder.
