Tallest lookout around - climb up to the top for a great all-around view. I stopped here on a bike ride on the tours around Fort Tilden and was so glad I did! Lots of graffiti on the former military structure, but the stairs are in good shape and it's worth the steps.
Beautiful view of natural area, abandoned military base and NYC
Would be better if they had a couple of telescopes, so you can get an idea of what it was like. But I do understand why it isn't any. Some of NJ coast can be seen on most days. And you can also see to the right of the point the old parachute jump in Coney Island.
Great place to watch 4th of July fireworks and meet some great people!
Nothing there all abandoned .
