Blount Street Parking Deck (City of Raleigh)

Free 2 hour parking!!! Close to the court house and a few good restaurants. Not bad at all compared to other places Ive paid to parked. No worries about parking tickets either because you pay when you leave!

The meter maid obviously sat at my car waiting for my time to expire and gave me a ticket 30 seconds after. I walked out 30 seconds later to move my car and he claimed he just happened by as it expired. Unlikely. Money grab for the city. They won’t give you a second or an inch (been ticketed for being an inch over the line too, because the car in front of me when I parked was too close to my spot). Avoid using the city parking spots or areas at all cost. They will f#*% you!

I use the passport app when I park, occasionally the app won't register my purchase and I have to restart. Well I was late for class and I didn't catch it this time. Came back and had a ticket waiting for me. I appealed by showing all my previous transactions that I was a paying customer and it was an app issue. They just rejected my appeal by basically calling me a liar. Good job guys, writing a ticket to a broke college student is really gonna make society better. Bunch of dirty scumbags.

Unbelievable how a government office like this can so unjustly give tickets out for things that are not anywhere notated on the road or not known parking knowledge. Beware of parking anywhere close to a driveway because even if you are not blocking a single inch of the driveway you will get charged and when appealing all you’ll hear back is that “Not being aware of the parking restrictions is not valid a reason for dismissal.” Just out to rob people of time and money because of a parking “law” that is no where indicated for the parkee to know. And then the real joke is if you want to re-appeal you have to appear in court. Over a parking ticket that they could easily give a 1 time appeal on. Ridiculous.
