After an awful experience with a flooded kitchen from an upstairs neighbor and a bad mitigation company, our neighbor found BuildBak to help put our kitchen back together. John Norton came out to our unit to inspect the damage and was extremely thorough with his inspection, photos, and report. What surprised me most was his communication. Up until that point I had been distraught and misled by others involved in the process. Even though it wasn’t John’s fault, he could tell how stressful the situation had been and took the time to explain everything step by step. Could not be happier with my experience. We had a flood in our bathroom that caused damage to our main bathroom. From the very beginning John, our project manager was communicative, efficient and extremely helpful. With having our only shower and downstairs toilet out of commission, John and his team did everything to get us back and operating as soon as possible. He communicated to me daily throughout the project and worked with our insurance to get everything done. His entire team from construction crew, to plumbing and electric were professional and worked effortlessly to get the job done. We live in a high-rise condo and had water damage from the unit above. The wood floor needed to be replaced, and portions of the ceiling and walls needed new sheetrock. The ceiling needed repair required making a custom molding. Buildbak was recommended by our insurance company. The company that did the water remediation also said they were good. Erik O was our main contact at Buildbak and he worked well with our insurance company and the condo insurance company. Workers were excellent as was the work quality. Flooring was a challenge and the flooring subcontractor came back and fixed some issues. They knew what they were doing. I am happy to recommend Buildbak and Erik.

In May 2025, we unfortunately had some significant water damage from a second-floor window leak which damaged a corner of our kitchen. We do consider ourselves fortunate that BuildBak was recommended to us to remedy problem!! The project coordinator was Erik Ostroff who guided us through every step of the process and made many suggestions for rehabbing our kitchen and bathroom. I can only offer superlatives for how Erik worked with my wife and I and how he was always most timely in all communications. (He has a personal 30-minute call-back policy which he actually kept!). I recently had repairs done on my home by BuildBAK. They were courteous, efficient, profession, and accommodating from start to finish. The entire job from start to finish was done in a timely, coordinated effort. While a crew focused on my bathroom, another crew worked diligently in my basement directly below said bathroom. The results were a completely restored area in both locations. I would gladly contact this contractor again. They provided all necessary information and photographs to my homeowners insurance to expedite the proposal and repairs. Thank you very much to the project manager and the work crew for a great job.
