John from California Chimney came 5min early (on time) did stellar work. talked me through our options for what we could do with our existing chimney. Inspected it thoroughly and cleaned it. He was thorough and quick. Five stars

It was easy to set up an appointment with John and he arrived promptly. He saw that our chimney had very heavy soot deposits and took about an hour and a half to clean it. This involved hauling his tools up several flights of stairs and going up on our roof. He was pleasant and professional. I will definitely call him again next time!

We were recommended by Buck Stove to use California Chimney a year ago when we purchased an insert for our living room fireplace. John did a fantastic job and very reasonable. Now a year later we decided to remove an old fireplace. We needed someone to cap the chimney. John responded promptly and completed the job in less than an hour. At first, John came to my house because I was entertaining the thought of revamping my fireplace to its former glory that I had never witnessed. He assured me that that wasn't a great idea because it was blocked, advised me about possible other solutions, and cleaned it up for me. About six weeks later, I had gotten a contractor who I know well to demo and redo the fireplace into something else. But like most demos, the contractor found a problem with a century old tile in the form of a pipe that obstructed the process. The contractor didn't know what to do and needed a chimney guy. I got in touch with John again. He got in touch with the contractor (I was at work through out all of this) and John came by the next morning.
