Centennial Parking Plaza

Not tonight, but twice within the past two weeks approximately 20-25 people in there having a party next to my car. People openly drinking, smoking, and blasting music. And to top it off, the gate doesn’t open and you’re trapped. And the elevators are filthy. In a time where the city is requiring (including employees) to pay to park EVERYWHERE downtown you need to do better.

12/21/23 Nightmare place to park!!! Last night we drove up to gate, we did not have a pass, had to get out of car to get our license plate number. Several cars were backed up in the street waiting for us, we finally got in! When it came time to leave, same issues, cars waiting. When our turn came, we put in our license plate number, then the system locked up with our credit card. Finally an attendant had to lift the gate up for us so we could leave!! Horrible experience, put a dapper on xmas show outing! We will not be back!

This is an awful experience for infrequent visitors who won't have the app. While you struggle to read the text on the machine when entering, and then figure out you can enter your phone number there will be cars lining up behind you. Then cars will line up behind you while trying to exit as you try to figure out how to pay. Why not keep it simple? Press a button and get a ticket on entry, pay at a kiosk and then scan your ticket as you can do at PDX and RDM. Alas, Bend would rather innovate in their pay for parking experience, which includes changing how you pay every few years. And that innovation just means visitors get frustrated.

I read it was $1- 1 hr, $2-2hrs etc Which was totally fine with me! I did what the sign said and pressed the green button to get my ticket. I drove in and turned right, because I saw the person in front of me do the same….little did we know there was a blockade at the second curve. I mean we found a parking spot there. But….it made no sense why there were blocks across. Anyways, in other cities, I’ve put the little ticket in my window as directed, but this time I held onto it. Because you had to pay at the front of the garage, but not at the gate. Which thankfully the pay station was at the front and wasn’t hard to find. I had no issues in the process of paying and it was super simple. The only thing was it didn’t look like you could pay with Cash—and of course they charged a .48 fee for u

Multiple times trying to get into the parking garage the line goes dangerously out of the street because of the confusing entrance gate panel going in. It requires a different app than the rest of the parking downtown (?!) or to use a phone number to even get into the garage, you don't even have an option to get situated and then figure out payment. On Friday night the exit arm was broken (not the first time) with a seriously full garage. A frustrated, backed-up giant line of cars had to be escorted out by a security guard out the entrance. This is so unacceptable. With only one parking garage for a jam-packed downtown, you'd think access and efficiency would be a little higher on the operations to-do list.
