We were very pleased with our recent service. We discovered a problem with our furnace after business hours but called the business and were able to schedule service that night for the following morning. The service tech Ailaina called us prior to arrival at the appointed time. She assessed the problem and quickly identified the solution. She explained the needed repair in a pleasant and patient manner. We really appreciated her efficient and friendly approach. The suggested repair solved the problem quickly and in a practical way. We are seven years into a ten year service/maintenance contract with Chas Robert's established when our home was built. We have not regretted our decision to purchase the service contract, it has paid for itself over time. And we have done upgrades to our system over time. Eric has been our service technician the last three visits, and if there is anyway to keep him our technician in the future, it would be greatly appreciated. Eric goes above and beyond looking for the small signs that point to big problems. We appreciate his thorough inspections, his kindness and the way he respects our home by cleaning up after himself and taking great care not to leave marks on walls, doors or floors from ladders and equipment. Currently not impressed. We had our appointment window of 1pm to 5pm. Tech did not arrive until almost 7pm and was ill prepared. He was nice and appeared to do a good job. Unfortunately the tech, I assume was tired and wasn't paying attention and fell part way through our ceiling. The lack of communication and control of the situation between the supervisor and the tech was poor and made us wonder if the were going to fix our house. It was a huge mess that was left for the home owners to clean. Once we got a person with the ability to communicate well the house was repaired immediately. I was never called back afterwards by Chas to make sure things were fixed to my standard. Never an offer to clean the mess or an attempt to make it right. If I could give this company a -10, I would. This is hands-down the worst A/C and plumbing company I’ve ever dealt with. I’ve lived in my home since 2019, and I’ve completely lost count of how many times they’ve come out for service visits—replacing compressors, “checking” the system, and doing yearly maintenance—and yet the problem is never fixed. The A/C has never worked at 100%. I’d estimate it’s at best 79% functional year-round. Lines constantly freeze, and upstairs temperatures regularly climb to 99°, even during supposedly routine operation. Despite countless visits, they still haven’t figured it out. Brand new house, a month in and the AC doesn’t work. Guy came and wasted a day and half to not fix a single thing. Didn’t tell us what was wrong, just said he had to order a replacement part, and then WE CALLED HIM days later to ask what was up. And he informs us the whole unit doesn’t work and needs to be replaced. Thanks for communicating. He also left crap all over the side yard for my dogs to tear up. 2 weeks later and nothing and it’s climbing into the 100’s this week. Absolutely unacceptable and Richmond homes needs to get a better AC contract. This company is a joke and I’d hope that Richmond would choose their vendors more carefully and with some sort of pride in their name. But here we are and this AC company doesn’t deserve the contract based on quality and customer service, so
