College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving of Northern Virginia

Really disappointing experience with a junk removal. We’ve used college hunks for a few other moves/ removals in the past, but this service has been a nightmare. I booked a junk removal to get a sectional couch out of my basement playroom. I never received a call to discuss the job ahead of time. The team showed up without any tools in their truck to help remove feet off of the couches to get them to fit through the doorframe better. They said they would be able to get the couch out no problem. They didn’t mention that they were scratching and denting my walls with every piece they took up. A manager was called at the end of the job and offered $150 off the bill or to pay in full and file a claim. I chose to file a claim not knowing that this company has zero customer service. The team we had for our move did a great job. Team leader Jorge was organized, detail oriented, and very communicative, which we very much appreciated, as we've had some bad moves in the past with other movers. He and his team Darwin & Erik worked very hard and efficiently. They padded and wrapped our furniture, doing a good job to protect everything. Nothing was damaged which was very important to us, because we had an antique mirror damaged in our last move. Always polite and professional, it was a pleasure having this team make our move. --I will say the office could have been a little more communicative to let us know who our team was going to be, but once the guys were here, they were great!

Darwin, Eric, and Christian were fantastic. They were friendly, efficient, and made the entire move feel easy from start to finish. I move fairly often, and it’s honestly hard to find a move where everything feels like it went smoothly, but this was one of those times. They worked quickly, handled everything carefully, and kept the whole process stress-free. Really appreciate the professionalism and positive attitude throughout the move. Highly recommend.

I was provided with excellent service!! The movers (Julius and his teammate) were awesome. They informed me about their ETA, which was greatly appreciated and provided me with a picture of my items once loaded onto their truck :)) They were extremely efficient with handling the unloading and delivery of my furniture into my home and even helped with moving my old mattress, frame and box springs to my garage. Tyren and Curtis helped me on one of the darkest day that I’ve experienced in a while. They arrived early and went right to work!
