Colonial Generators

So I used this company, who recommended, sold and installed our whole house generator. They even performed annual service on the generator earlier this year. However when a weekly test run failed to crank last week and I called them for repair, they have responded via e-mail that they no longer support this brand (the brand is prominent on their website as I post this), and they sent me a link to the manufacturer website, with a “Have a great day”! Incredibly poor values being shown here. This reflects weak business ethics and disregard for customer loyalty and after‑sales service - hence one star.

Great experience dealing with Colonial Generators! The four folks we dealt with most were Gail, who handled the admin and permits; John, who oversaw the project from start to finish; and both Darwin and Miguel, our installers, not only worked hard, but the way they ran the lines (perfect for my Type A personality), and were respectful of our home, both inside and out. Everyone was friendly, professional, and thorough in ensuring the system worked, and we were comfortable with its operations as well. The follow-up after the installation was also very much appreciated. Thank you, Colonial Generators, for the peace of mind. We highly recommend Colonial Generators for your generator purchase!

Would not recommend this company in the slightest. It’s been months since we had someone come out for a quote and even after calling them multiple times have yet to see a quote. They don’t even have the decency to reply. We are a family with young children and wanted to make sure our generator was updated and ready to go for the winter. At this rate even if we went with another company they may not be able to finish before winter. Colonial generators has wasted our time and strung us along. Shame on them.

Very disappointing experience. We scheduled an on-site visit and waited a long time for the quote. Once it was finally received and we tried to move forward, the company stopped responding entirely. We followed up several times and even contacted the owner with no response. For a company selling emergency backup power, the lack of communication was concerning.

Terrific service, installation was great. It was no-pressure sales and the product the Cummins generator they installed has worked perfectly the first time we needed it. I would definitely recommend, and already have, them!
