Sunny day, no rain, concrete set up enough to walk on within a few hours. Spider cracks throughout within 12 hours before relief cuts could be made. Representative from Columbia Ready Mix came to inspect the cracks claiming “it’s normal, there’s nothing we can do, but I’ll look into it”. A week or so later after checking in to see what the representative had uncovered he admitted that there was no ash in the mix brought to pour that day. However, he insisted Columbia Ready Mix couldn’t possibly be responsible for their own oversight. Instead he insisted blame be passed onto the concrete finisher who unknowingly was receiving a bad mix from Columbia Ready Mix. I can only imagine how many more horror stories there are out there about cracks that could’ve been avoided if Columbia Ready Mix wa
