I was planning the gift of a Japanese screen to a well known art museum. The museum requested a report on the physical status of the screen (which was several hundred years old) to assure that it would not present conservation issues. The conservator came on time and made a thorough and professional evaluation of the screen's condition. The report provided a very detailed analysis of the screen indicating where repairs had been made, the quality of the repairs and the likelihood that the screen could be displayed safely.
