Corcoran Street Parking Garage

It’s a one-way garage, I could not figure out how to go back down a level to park once I got to the top. There is a nice view of the tobacco campus from the top, just don’t expect to go back down to park once you go up 🤷‍♀️ It’s also tight, I’d be shitting bricks if I was in a truck or large SUV going down the spiral down ramp.

Would not park here again. We went to a show at DPAC. The show ended at 10:15PM and we were back at our car at 10:25. The parking garage was mostly empty so we were one of the first cars leaving. It took us 40 minutes to exit the garage. It appears the credit card reader was malfunctioning and only working sporadically. Letting 1 car out every 4 minutes or so. There was no one on-site to assist. I finally did reach an attendant on the call box. She apologized but did nothing to assist. Minimally they should have opened the gates and left open. I am thinking the cars behind me would easily be there another hour.

I have to say this was 3 years ago, but this is an honest review. I parked for 2 hours one evening and when I left I inserted the ticket and the machine said "error". I assumed it would have opened the gate to let me go since it was only a couple dollars. Instead it came up with a "lost ticket" option for 13.00 and would only open the gate if I pressed yes. I went to the Durham website twice and disputed the charge and never got a reply. So, *turns head dramatically* I'll be parking elsewhere.

The garage itself is fine and very convenient if going to American Underground, but the ticket system barely works and the elevator is basically broken. Only park here out of necessity.

Went to park here a little bit before 6pm to go to dinner and maybe was there 1.5 hours. When we arrived the gate was already open. And the booth wasn’t giving us a ticket. So we assumed it was after hour parking or something. We went to leave after dinner and the gates closed. It says we would have to pay $25 for a “lost” ticket. We never were given a ticket. But what made it worse is no where on the ticket machine says HOW to even pay for a lost ticket (you hold the receipt button apparently. You are welcome for whoever this helps). So we were stuck for a good 15 mins with 0 clue how to leave, we figured it out but we paid $25 for 1.5 hours of parking for a “losing a ticket” we never were given in the first place. I will never park here again.
