I'm a local in Big Bear since 2006. DIY is always well stocked and neat. The employees are very helpful and remember you as a customer. I believe any bad reviews about the employees are because these people shop at Butcher's Block or are from down the mountain. Please don't let these bad reviews influence you, come and see for yourself! :-)

The manager here is an absolute jerk. No way around it. Older white man with white hair. What a disgusting customer service experience. He should be ashamed and embarrassed the way he treats customers. Disrespectful and dismissive. I’m so tired of the way businesses today treat people as expendable. They should, instead, promote Robin the cashier to manager. She was lovely, respectful, and kind.

Don’t buy wood from here go to butchers block! They sent me wood so warped I can’t even use it for a simple platform and they refuse to pick it up and refund me thanks a lot for the help Carlos!

Very rude customer service. They made me feel like i was scamming . i had my recipt n this is wat they said " we r not a tool renting company " i did not argue , i just listen to how they saw no concern for customer service. as i left both managers were outside smoking . very unsatisfied. I went back the next day to speak with the store manager and I cannot believe the customer service this whole store offers they should be audited by the Better Business Bureau

Has everything you may need, and even things you don't! Prices are all fair, but with the dollar tree next door I suggest starting there first for some things! I needed a garden trowel and the cheapest was $5, but dollar tree had a nearly identical one for $1.25 There is also an older woman working there, Robin I believe, who was our cashier a few times and she would randomly stop ringing up items and forget what she was doing or if she had already rang the item up or not ...so one time we were double charged for an item, but it was just a few dollars so we didn't go back to have it corrected (plus we didn't want to embarrass her). But the staff is extremely kind and helpful!
