As a child, I lived in a house with my adopted mother, but I absolutely despised it. Not only was I not allowed to play, but my sister and I were subjected to abuse. To make matters worse, I was always afraid of the basement, and even to this day, I can't shake the feeling that the house is haunted. It's a difficult memory to revisit, but it's a part of my past that I can't ignore.
