Durham Centre Parking Garage

I don't give bad reviews usually but this was a very expensive parking experience. In order to keep traffic flowing after the YES concert, attendants were posted at the exit gate waving people through. Due to the location of the staff I didn't notice one of the concrete post on the passenger side. If the staff member was on the other side I would have been forced to swing wide, like when normally exiting and wouldn't have hit the post.

One of the best, central, places to park in Durham. If you're willing to walk, or take the scooters, this parking lot is in the middle of lots to do. I've always felt safe and never had an issue at this location.

If I could give a 0 star rating, I would. Upon entering the garage after congested traffic, the attendant said it was $5 to park, which then I asked if she accepted credit cards. She stated that they do not accept credit cards. What establishment these days does not accept credit cards? I found what cash I had on me only to find she didn't have enough change to give me back. She rudely stated she couldn't make change for me and that I would have to exit. If you do not accept credit cards, expect to have to make change for the masses! Very poor customer service!

Clean and felt safe walking around. Easy to get in and out of. Not too bad on price.

Usually the most convenient central place to park with plenty of spaces that accepts cash and cards ... Unless there is some kind of event happening "somewhere" in Durham, in which case it's $5, cash only, with no signs saying otherwise until you have already pulled in and then have to waste your time driving a loop to get out. Makes no sense that there are less paying methods DURING an event and on weekends than on regular days.
