Don't call this electric company if you don't plan on using the electricity at your land/property. They put a paper at my newly purchased land/property to call them within 7 days to transfer service. While talking to them on my first initial call, I told them I didn't plan on using the electricity there. Never did they tell me I do not need to put it under my name if I did not want electricity. So I went ahead and gave them all my information. So now I'm being charged the $25 transfer fee plus their $45 minimum fee for having the account opened. That fee is there whether you use the electricity or not. Just putting this out there for anyone else who may see this note at their property thinking they need to call so the power company knows you're the new owner. I feel scammed and it's funny

Complete BS...... Cannot call these guys for the love of God when you need info from them.... They have a monopoly of energy services so,, you do as they say or they strongarm you until you comply... No other option for power (as with heating companies/ect) so, that's complete BS..
