Eldersburg Renovations

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Eldersburg Renovations. My husband and I hired them to handle the repairs to our house after a tree fell on it. They used subcontractors to repair the roof, gutters, and siding, and those repairs were excellent with no issues. However, Eldersburg Renovations used their own people to do the deck repairs, and it quickly became obvious that they did not have the expertise or attention to detail to do a high quality job. When the deck boards were initially laid, the spacing between boards was irregular, and the boards had to be torn out and relaid. The second time, although better, some of the boards were still not spaced uniformly, and some were laid unevenly, resulting in a surface that was not flat in some areas. From the start with the quote, through every aspect of finishing our basement, we were very happy. Quality work and good communication. The contractors were very respectful of the space and straightened up each day before leaving. We are looking forward to working with Eldersburg Renovations on future projects.

Be careful with these guys. We contracted with them to build a deck around our above ground pool. They drew up a good design and were reasonably priced, so we went with them. About halfway through the project, we asked them if the 3ft railings they were planning to use were tall enough given the Carroll County codes for decks. They didn’t seem to know about these codes, which probably should have been a red flag. But we sent them the codes and they assured us their design was fine. Since they are licensed MD contractors, we assumed they knew what they were doing. But three months later, the deck failed the final inspection- because the railing wasn’t high enough. Maryland law stipulates that decks around pools have to be built differently than ordinary decks. So just be careful using them.

Rodney and his team did an awesome job restoring my basement back to usable form after I had a sump pump failure and it flooded. They came out a day after I called them to take a look at the damage and after the water remediation team finished their work it only took a few days to get all the work completed. Would highly recommend using their services! It looks great!

Rick and Rod recalibrated our expectations as to what a general contractor provides. They were immensely knowledgeable, highly communicative, priced appropriately, and patient during stressful times. They helped realize our vision for a stunning master bathroom and we are looking forward to hiring them again this coming summer to do our kitchen. If you have a project that you've been thinking of doing, give them a call, you won't regret it.
