Federal Plaza Garage

I've parked at this garage multiple times per week for years. Never again. BEWARE: There is something leaking onto cars that strips the paint. It's happened to me and multiple large drip spots on my black car are now a permanent faded silver. To add to this the staircase passed the 2nd floor has been closed for over a year. The staircase up to the 2nd floor is a communal urinal for Worcester's homeless. The elevators have warnings not to overcrowd them. Take that suggestion because I've seen the elevators get stuck twice and the fire department need to be called. I will now just risk getting city of Worcester parking tickets instead of parking here. Tons of paint damage to my car not worth the price of ever parking there again.

I parked there today for 93 minutes for the princely sum of $20. One of two elevators was not working. One of two payment machines was not working. One of two stairwells was blocked by a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood. I waited with a crowd to pay, and then for the elevator, finally walking up to my car through the garage. What is LAZ parking doing with this garage?

Plenty of space to park. Pretty good rates. Cheaper than parking at most of the venues or stadiums if you don’t mind a bit of a walk. If you’re visiting downtown but not the DCU center, this is a decent option. Only complaint was the payment machine. The machine froze late in the evening and I had to spend about 15 minutes between waiting and chatting with a remote support agent through the machine. Will be keeping an eye on my card to make sure it doesn’t get double charged… aside from that though, it’s fine. There are multiple exits, which is definitely helpful. And it was easy to find a spot.

I prepaid for a parking space with ParkWhiz. When I showed up at the Federal Plaza Garage for a concert at the Hanover Theater and presented my Parking Pass, I discovered that I had mistakenly reserved for the Austin Street Garage. No problem. The attendant promptly gave me an entrance ticket, and accepted my Pass as payment when I left. Great customer service! Thank you!

Paid for parking in the lobby and went to leave to find that the gate was up and the ticket machine simply had a "Free Passage" message. I want my $7 back.
