Fiddler On The Roof Chimney Sweep

Don was skeptical about the dryer vent cleaning job we needed as it is a 205 year old house with a slate roof. The vent is located in a difficult to access area. He opted to try from the inside, despite reservations due to the odd nature of the vent. He got right in there and did not let the job deter him in the least. This was a job that had been turned down by SIX other alleged chimney sweeps and dryer vent cleaning outfits. Don had the entire job done in less than an hour, cleaned up after himself, and was a thoroughly professional and congenial gentleman. I would hire Don any day, in a NY minute.

If possible I would give negative stars. I hired Donald Witters on 4 30 2025 to demo a chimmney and replace with crown work. I WAS QUOTED A 4 - 5 DAY PROJECT. I paid him 1/2 of the project value. As of today the work is 1/3 completed. Donald avoids my phone calls and has his wife sometimes answer giving me the excuse that he is in the shower and he will call me. Still waiting on the call. His equipment is still on my property and I am unable to use fire place, wood stove or furnance. Not sure what his game is. I am in the process of calling other chimney repair contractors to finish the work, and proceeding to small claims court to recoup the money I have paid him. Do not use this business for anything.

I've been using Fiddler on the Roof since I purchased my home 12 years ago, and the previous owners of my house used them happily for years as well. They have always done a great job at cleanings and repairs. I have referred them to neighbors who have also been very happy with the friendly and knowledgeable service. It's always a pleasure to get my chimney cleaned knowing my home will be in such good hands!
