I’ve been waiting two years to see our outdoor fireplace the way it was supposed to be. Finally, First choice chimney came to save the day. For some reason the builder just didn’t get what we wanted but now our copper shroud is in place and I couldn’t be happier. It was a pricey project but I just love it. First Choice Chimney Service was wonderful to work with! Our house was having chimney/wood stove air flow problems and we hired Michael to add an outside air intake. This was to improve efficiency and heat output by helping our older wood stove achieve optional combustion temperatures. We also wanted to avoid an issue where soot had blasted through any crevice in the stove twice when oxygen level shifted quickly (at least that is what I think was the issue; I am no expert). This outside air intake would also help oxygen not be depleted in the room. It was an unusual request to make because of the type of wood stove we have but we wanted to make the system more functional and Michael installed the intake. Older house with huge wood burning stove in fireplace was unsafe to use. First Choice Chimney repaired chimney and put insert into chimney, sealed the stove. No more cold air coming in and wood stove works great - heats up whole house and is very efficient. So happy I had professionals do this work. The work area was set up to keep room clean while working. They were polite, thoughtful And explained the work procedure to me. Then when finished, showed me how to stack wood in stove to start a fire. So Happy to have this fireplace brought up to date. Thank you Mike.
