Gardens by Design

Tim Nolan created a spectacular garden design for the very shady area of our backyard. He chose perennials that thrive in the shade and promise us a garden with color for at least 8 months out of the Connecticut year. It is a work of art, a pleasure to view each day. I recently worked with Timothy Nolan to create a sustainable landscape solution for our home. He was completely responsive to all of my requests, particularly helping me to find plants and flowers that were deer resistant and low maintenance. He also brought in stone workers to re-style my rock walls, and to create a stone pathway that replaced an asphalt one. Timothy Nolan was able to do all of these projects on a fast timeline due to his professional contacts. I had the good fortune of having Tim as an instructor while pursing my Landscape Design Certificate at The New York Botanical Garden. Tim’s extensive knowledge of plants, trees and shrubs is impressive and his approach to complementing the native ecology is something that I’m working into my own design practice. I took a landscape class at the Bronx Botanical Garden and Tim Nolan was my teacher. Instantly I knew he was the guy who would do my native plant meadow. Tim listens, many people do not, and he got it and ran with it. He was always on time and he had a way to travel.I live in Muttontown , Long Island. He first came up with the design and supplied me with several different price ranges. We carefully chose all the varieties, the size and the layout. He described it like a dream and I knew it would be incredible. I hired the people to dig out the space but Tim was there every step to make sure it was done properly.
