Giant City Stone Fort Site

8/18/23 Short loop trial, with beautiful rock formations. At the beginning of the trail is beautiful cascading rocks, it had very little water when we were there. Would have loved to have seen it with a moderate water flow. The "fort" itself is more like a stone wall. Still beautiful to see. We observed several different types of fungi, I can't resist snapping photos of them. The trail has a few beautiful overlooks. We found a place to sit on rocks and look out over a beautiful grassy area and see the road below. When a vehicle comes by it lends perspective to how high up you really are. There is one section along the top of the trail that is very narrow, the drop off is straight down, use extreme caution, if you have a fear of heights or when it is wet be extra careful.

Let me know when you find the fort... All I found was a long pile of rock 🤣. Over looking the side was about the coolest aspect for me.

Love this trail. A cave. A waterfall. Rocks. What more could you ask for? Good workout of you keep the pace up.

As I understand it, its mostly reconstructed after being looted for building material, but it's a beautiful site. Very dangerous walk in parts, only inches away from sheer rock face. Go back the way you came after the stone wall if you nervous around such things, or it's wet.

Quick trail but ohh wow is it cool. 10/10
