Golubitsky Fencing Center

Coach Golubitsky is great, and his wife Caroline is even better. My daughter has been in the place for more than one year, she likes the environment, also the boys and the girls who learned to fencing together. The level of instruction very much lived up to our expectations since Caroline is well known both as an athlete and a coach who is to be one of the Greatest Of All Time. But beyond that my daughter really enjoyed the atmosphere of the club and the facility itself. Every time I walk into the center I can't help but feel my daughter one step closer to being a world class fencer. Not many sports clubs can give you that. Caroline has good patience and encouraged my daughter to be more aggressive and braver.

We traveled from Denver for my son to attend Summer Nationals Prep camp and take some additional one-on-one lessons from Coach Golubitsky. Coach Sergei is one of the best coach in the world. He's he Michael Jordan of fencing. Lots of people were flying all over the world to train with Sergei. We felt very lucky that Golubitsky Fencing Center is a 15 min drive away and really appreciate coach Sergei, Bogdan and Roman's guidance.

No ordinary competitive fencing instruction - Coach Sergei is not only a 3-time world champion, but has coached several national Olympic teams. This is for serious students who want instruction from a world-class foil fencing coach, not to pretend they're Jedi knights. If you're goal is to become the best foil fencer you can, gain national ranking and fence in international competitions, Coach Sergei is for you. On the other hand, if you are a parent who just wants their young child to try out the sport of fencing, this is probably not the best place for that. Training is serious and rigorous. Fencers from all over the world come to GFC to train with Coach Sergei Golubitsky, FIE Hall of Fame.

Run by a husband and wife team (both Olympians), GFC is the premier place for competitive fencing in Southern California. They work hard to keep kids engaged with fun games, but emphasize precise technique at an early age. The coaches are great role models for the older fencers, whom in turn are exemplary for the younger ones. After playing baseball, basketball and soccer for a few years, my son wanted to try an individual sport, where results rely more directly on effort. He's been fencing here for about 5 months, and absolutely loves it.
