Green Mountain Scenic Overlook & Trailhead - Observation Tower

I fell and fractured my femer on March 30th 2025 had to be emergency evacuated out of there. I stepped on a large rock that thru me into the air, when I hit I broke my leg! The path is awful, very rocky and very rough, paramedics said they have had frequent emergency calls for falls and for bike accidents. I had to have a rod, a screw and a nail inserted into my bone to support it. I am out of work for 8 weeks but not healed fully for at least a month to a year! My friend were just leisurely walking. The paths are made of Recycled concrete and large chunks are everywhere. Take caution be very careful. These trails are not safe. Honestly very dangerous.

Sometime next year a new, higher tower will be built. Forty feet higher! Thanks to Green Mountain Scenic Byway, Inc. and Lake County Commissioners matching a National Scenic Highway grant.

View isn't great, but the area is a peaceful place to walk with lots of birds. We saw a gator too. Very flat (of course)

Nice quiet place, trees are severely obstructing any kind of “view”, sadly. People frequently biking and hiking.

The tower is nice, but the trail is awful for anything with wheels.
