Greg Storer Art (Classes and Fine Art Gallery)

My son, who is now in college, was a student of Greg Storer Art, through his formative years - middle and high school. Greg helped him build upon his natural talent for art, by teaching him core techniques while giving him freedom to express himself through art. My son always looked forward to his art lesson, no matter how busy his schedule was! As a parent, I loved the fact that my son was engaged and happy and came back with beautiful oil paintings every few weeks! Overall we had a wonderful experience with Greg Storer Art and would highly recommend it!

I bought two sessions for my son as a Christmas gift and paid upfront online. I was asked when we would like to start and I said the date that worked best for us. The day before what I thought was my son's last class, I received an email stating that this week started a new session and to please pay for the rest of the session for him to continue. If the date I chose did not align with the session schedule, why was it agreed upon to start on that date? We could have adjusted to the session schedule had we known. Why did I find out the day before my son's 8th class that there was an issue with the way we were scheduled? Even if we had paid for the rest of the month we would have still been shorted a day. Please be careful in reading the description of classes and school policies. Classes for age 6 through grade 7 are taught by high school Students (the description has that it is taught by an instructor, while she is there, she only does 5 minutes of instruction). It is a free-style class with ONLY 5 minutes of instruction and emailed videos in between classes. It seems Greg is uninvolved with students under Grade 7. When I brought my Son and received a tour of the building I was told there are iPads and general art supplies for them to start working. I asked if they could give him a prompt to help get the creative juices flowing and the instructor seemed surprised I would ask that. We expected the class to be taught by Greg Storer and were sad to find out what the class format actually is. He emails one youtube video per week to watch at home and then during class the students have 2 hours to free draw with no instruction. This style of class has very little value to us and is not worth our time spent driving to and from the studio, or the money paid to be there. We won’t be returning.

I’ve been a student for nearly 4 years. I hadn’t EVER painted before my first class. Greg’s support and guidance has made oil painting a priority in my life both at the studio and at my home. Now in my late 60s (extremely late) I intend to continue on with Greg and in my home studio forever. It’s quite a joy in my life and I attribute it to learning from Greg.
