The most pleasant remodel project we have ever had over years of projects! Colin and his family team did a terrific job rebuilding a ceiling/roof over our screen porch giving us tons of light and zero rain over 30 plus feet of porch to enjoy year around.They were always on time and show up without fail. Unfortunately, that is not the norm these days with an industry of limited availability and an abundance demand. The workmanship was precise and as designed.The work area was always tidy at the end of the day. There was never a problem working around them or them around us when we worked from home. We just experienced some pretty strong winds and rains without a leak or scratch from the roof structure or eight custom-made polycarbonate panels comprising the roof and ceiling. The last two

I love my fireplace facelift (& accent kitchen wall) and I loved working with this crew!! Such attention to detail. Colin gives an estimate and an outline of a schedule before the work even starts. (very reasonable!!) He sent me pictures of barn wood (to be repurposed for a floating mantlepiece), various wood at the warehouse and other things for visual assistance. Very communicative! Would even STOP at places during construction, where we could talk it out & I could make decisions. He gave me time to find the perfect stain (yes I went through 10 variations, because the light outside, the light in the garage-turned-into-workshop, and the lighting in my house are very different). The trio from Grey Star did a phenomenal job renovating my deck. It was a major renovation. Honestly it looks better than the original deck looked when it was new! They communicate in a timely manner and their workmanship is top notch. They also clean up thoroughly after finishing the job. I really can’t recommend them highly enough!

Colin has handled three projects for me in the past three years: A 9-foot solid American cherry mantel built to my design (see photo); some general carpentry that included the challenging installation of a new kitchen vent and hood; and the renovation and reconstruction of a nondescript 20-year-old deck into a structure far more striking and useful. If you care about design and workmanship (and I do), Grey Star is a great option. It's not cheap, but worthwhile: Colin and his crew work deliberately and carefully to deliver an excellent result. And if there's a glitch, you can depend on Colin's commitment to make it right. I've recommended Grey Star to others, and I certainly recommend it to you.

Colin and his crew were all fantastic and we would happily work with them again in the future. We hired Grey Star for a pretty big renovation project on a home we recently brought: replacing around 30 windows with new custom wood windows, replacing all our old siding with new cedar siding, and painting all the siding. They did a fantastic job in every regard and even our neighbors were impressed with them. We are so glad we hired them. Colin was easy to communicate with, the crew was careful and polite, they were trustworthy, and they took pride in their work. We definitely give them 5 out of 5 stars for every aspect of the job. I have nothing but positive things to say regarding our experience with Colin and all of the Grey Star crew.
