I cannot begin to tell everyone how pleased I am with Groundworks! When Matt came out to walk the property and give me a quote, we both agreed that the yard was an absolute mess! Later, Matt shared with me that he had underestimated how big a mess! Matt assured me that he and his crew did excellent work and I would be pleased with the end result. In a matter of days, my property was transformed into something that is the envy of my neighbors. What came as a pleasant surprise was Matt's attention to detail. And don’t expect that the owner will be willing or even able to pay for any damage caused to your property. Buyer Beware. Unfortunately things have soured since our initial review due to a deck staining project gone wrong.Seems like it turned into a "house staining project". While they offered to come out and try to remove the stain, I don't feel comfortable nor confident that the stain can be removed without further damage to the siding. We were told by our builder that the siding would need to be repainted or replaced. To Mr. Burke's response, the quote was from Groundworks and the payment was requested from Groundworks. I contacted Groundworks Raleigh in Oct of 2023 and initially Matt was great! He was responsive and friendly, and arrived at my house to do aerating and seeding the same day I called him. During his visit he stated they had an annual maintenance package and after receiving the estimate, I paid for the 7-step maintenance in full (all in October 2023). Matt indicated he would get me on schedule for Nov or Dec to begin. Fast forward to Jan 1, 2024 and I hadn’t seen him so I reached out to inquire when he’d be at my house. Matt stated he’d be there “early next week” - Matt never showed up…in fact, after SEVERAL text messages, phone calls and emails, to this day (April 2024), Matt has NEVER been to my house to perform the contracted service that was paid for in full. Groundworks is an incredible lawn service and landscape company in Raleigh. We have been using them for a few years to do our lawn mowing and maintenance. They also help with spring and fall clean-up, putting down mulch, and helping to haul away leaves. Matt and his team are professional, courteous, and always give great recommendations for what the yard needs. We get compliments on the yard frequently.
