I am posting this review after first attempting to address the issue privately by messaging Edward through his website. After several weeks without a response, I am sharing our experience. My fiancé and I purchased a home near the Russian River in early 2022. In December 2022, we hired Gunneau’s Home Services through Thumbtack to install a chandelier. Edward arrived with a younger helper. After installation, the light was briefly turned on and off, confirmed working, and we paid between $1,000–$2,000 for the service. Within a few weeks, the chandelier caused the breaker to trip repeatedly when in use. Unsure of the cause, we stopped using it. Later that year, a licensed electrician evaluated the issue. We were informed that the chandelier had not been properly supported and was hanging

Ed and his helper have helped me on several occasions, and really glad there’s an ‘affordable handy man’ who’s kind, reliable, and who actually sits down, and communicates with you on what needs fixing and then gets the job done fast and efficiently. Thanx Ed; you’re my huckleberry handyman.

I do not recommend this company to complete any work. He massacred my wall trying to hang a TV bracket. After he left the tv picture was damaged. It was until I had the tv replaced that the wall damage was discovered. I have contracted him for his insurance information and he refuses to provide this to me. He also refuses to uphold the “one year warranty” he claims he has online. He thinks I should have informed him sooner? This is a typical case of an ego taking over and treating a female home owner suboptimal. He does not apologize for his damage or error in any of the negative online comments available on Thumbtack. Consumer beware of this company. False advertisement on Thumbtack.

Edward Gunneau is responsive, organized, efficient, and a pleasure to work with. I asked him to pick up crown moulding and install it, and he did a fine job in a difficult room. I will definitely call him again.
