I had a very disappointing experience with Hansell Paints in Raleigh/Durham. First, the pricing was absolutely outlandish. I understand that specialty finishes like Portola limewash come at a premium, but the quotes felt inflated well beyond reasonable market value. $4,800 for one bedroom. Really? Does the paint have gold in it? I think not. Second, the sales representative, Travis, was extremely pushy and came across as pompous. Rather than providing guidance or education about the product, the tone felt condescending and sales-drive as if I should feel honored to have them paint my house. Most recently over the late summer of 2025 a complete outside painting of our 1926 large colonial wood house. What sets them apart is their exceedingly high-quality work and unwavering professionalism. They are true craftsmen who take immense pride in good quality work. Hansell Painting just completed their second project at our house. This time it was an interior job, taking care of some walls that were damaged during a delivery along a stairwell.
