We've always liked having a Harbor Freight nearby once we discovered them years ago. They have a good selection of tools to fit the pros down to the cheaper home handyman that just needs something occasionally. My wife and I enjoy the smell of the store, fresh tools and rubber i think. Only thing missing now is one here in Ankeny where we just moved. Supposedly in talks. Time will tell. Meanwhile, the one here isn't too far.
Great place to pick up tools for all kinds of household and automotive projects. HF has really stepped up their game the last couple years. The Icon hand tools are very high quality. I’ve been very impressed with the Badland winches and recovery gear. The Roadshock trail lights are super bright. Lots of other gems throughout the store. The Inside Track membership is a great deal if you are a frequent shopper.
Great prices for tools. It doesn't mean that they are cheap tools. Some are as good as any you can buy
