Heating and Air Conditioning

Went with a mini split wall unit when we built our house just for it to be replaced a year later due to saw dust in the vent (left on during construction?). Second unit leaked blue liquid down the wall and dripped ice on expensive electronics. Just recently, the unit went out entirely, they took 3 days to come look at it then couldn’t figure out what was wrong just to order a part with no ETA for the past week in this extreme heat wave. Stuck without AC for the past week. Awful customer support and terrible units. Save your energy and just go with a different company.

We were referred to LD Swain by our contractor. LD Swain installed a new heat pump in our home. They identified our previous system didn’t have the proper size return. Now the new system works perfectly! A tremendous improvement. They are quick and efficient. Good communication and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Our A/C wasn't working, which was the last thing my eight-months-pregnant wife needed, but Donald managed to fit me in ASAP (despite being totally booked for the next several days), and Shane and my guy Brandon quickly diagnosed the issue, ran a whole new wire through the house, and got our A/C up and running in no time. LD Swain charged us $90 for a service call to fix their problematic air conditioner coil replacement which was still under warranty! We will never use them again. They installed our two HVAC systems in 2000 and have serviced them ever since. In Sept 2010, LD Swain had to do a $1,148 coil replacement on one of the units; we paid the bill promptly as usual. Nine months later, there was a problem with their installation; their worker fixed the problem right away and said that the repair was under warranty. We have since been invoiced for $90 for the service call. My husband wanted to discuss the problem with one of the owners but could not get past the woman who does the billing. She insists that the repair was under warranty but that the labor to make the service call was not. What s
