Helderburg Defenders

My dream car has always been a Defender. My experience with Helderburg and Paul for the entire process has been wonderful. The attention to detail, the lush interior, the beautiful paint….everything perfectly exquisite. I just love my 1997 d90 with an original diesel engine, 5 speed manual transmission. It is a legit d90 but packaged with love and the highest qualities of craftsmanship. It is no surprise to see heads turn when I drive by. I just recently received Moxey. Th power and performance is far more than I expected from a turbo diesel and exhaust sound in fantastic. I find myself wanting to drive it everyday bc it is just fun to drive. To be clear, I got the D90 and while one could use it as a daily driver, you wouldn’t want to. What do I mean? Sometimes when I’m driving it’s purely for utility. I often end up home and forget how I even got there. That is not the case with this truck! It is an experience. You will remember EXACTLY how you got home. I had the good fortune of spending some time with Paul before his move. I was always impressed by the amount of thoughtfulness he and his team put into everything! I don't know if I've ever seen more discerning tastes in what he designs for his own personal use, and he's taken all that knowledge and built what are some of the most capable, unique, and luxurious vehicles on the planet. One time Paul and I had a long discussion about the number of times he had the wooden steering wheel redesigned for one of the trucks because he just didn't like the way it looked and felt. Ordered my Sophia D110 in 2020. This Defender is a perfect soulmate of a car. I drive it daily, which to me amounts to a daily meditation. Pure luxury, amazing feeling of full control, intent and purpose! Absolutely love it! I’d recommend anyone investing into a Heldeburg build, you won’t regret it. Also, Paul is very helpful and always there for me to explain the Defender quirks and nuances to someone who hasn’t owned a classic Defender before.

The trucks are tastefully done, they walk you through the journey and then deliver an amazing rig. Helderburg delivered an upgraded, numbers matching Defender which is rare. Two years of ownership, the reliability has been amazing and it still gets a ton of attention. Don’t be fooled by the short cut builders that slap a LS in these rigs and call it bespoke.
